We’re On Our Way!

March 23rd, 2008

We’re on our way! The first few “Founding Life Memberships” have been sold and we’re adding up the dollars to buying the CFDA charter, timers and so on.

Welcome Gregg and Nancy Townsley, numbers 1 and 2, with their Cowboy Fast Draw Association (CFDA) registered aliases “the Rev. W. W. Ronin” and “Generous Kate!”

Number 6 goes to Don Brown, professional holster maker and co-owner of Ted Blocker Holsters in nearby Tigard, Oregon, our first 2008 corporate sponsor!

When I chose mine, I thought first of one of my favorite Clint Eastwood films, Pale Rider. But the more I thought of it, the more I wanted my alias to picture a time and place expressive of my own unique personality and history.

Here’s Some Help

March 20th, 2008

I remember the first time I got help on shooting Cowboy Fast Draw. It was in Bob Mernickle’s holster shop in Fernley, Nevada. I was buying my first fast draw holster and Bob was more than willing to show me what to do with it.
